Stephanie Burridge (PhD) lectures at LASALLE College of the Arts and Singapore Management University. She was Artistic Director of Canberra Dance Theatre (1978-2001) where she created over 40 works and was awarded the first Choreographic Fellowship at the Australian Choreographic Centre. She is a dance writer, critic and Series Editor for Routledge anthology collections: Celebrating Dance in Asia and the Pacific, (Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, the South Pacific and Australia) and Perspectives on Dance, Young People and Change, Series Foreword by Sir Ken Robinson (Dance Education Around the World; Dance Access and Inclusion; Dancing Across Borders).
Recent choreographic performances and commissions have been M1 CONTACT Festival Singapore 2017, Adelaide Dance Festival 2018; BOLD Festival Canberra 2017 & 2019; Canberra Dance Theatre 40th Anniversary 2019. Her choreography MIST is up for best female performer (Anca Frankenhaeuser) at the Australian Dance Awards 2020. Current projects include ‘Men Dancing’ supported by the NAC featuring Patrick Harding Irmer (Australia), Kailin Yong, Antonio Vargas and Zhao Zihao; and ‘Belvedere Ballroom’ a Tasmanian 10 Days on the Island Festival commission for MADE Dance Company.
