Biography

A recent Bachelor of Arts graduate from the LASALLE College of the Arts in 2019, Stacie has been actively engaging in performing and teaching dance in various companies. She is also involved in dance performances opportunities by locally and internationally renowned choreographers like John Mead (USA/Singapore) in Mimetic Recall (2013), Mathia Martiz (Barcelona) in Praying Mantis (2013), Albert Tiong and Chien Hua Bao (Singapore/Taiwan) in Differ 3 (2015) and Kuik Swee Boon (Singapore) in Parallel (2019).

Stacie trained in ballet, contemporary dance and jazz, but has picked up hip-hop, tap dance and salsa in recent years. Prior to her study at LASALLE, she took ballet lessons at Forms Ballet and Dance Centre and trained under Catholic Junior College’s Dance Club. Her love for contemporary dance grew while she was in Pei Hwa Secondary School’s Dance Society and was appointed the President of the Dance Club.

Stacie joined Re:Dance Theatre as an Apprentice Dancer from June 2014 to Sep 2015 upon graduation from LASALLE. After Company life in 2016, she performed in Paragraph’s Phrase 2, Dance Nucleus Hatch 2, Exxon Mobile Campus Concert 2016 and a site-specific work in Singapore’s Civic District. She performed for NOISE Singapore in a piece commissioned by Global Cultural Alliance titled Short Cut Dreams. In 2017, She performed in Dance Nucleus Hatch 3 and PRISMA Dance Festival 2017 in Panama. She actively dances for The Kueh Tutus, performing for babies and children. She gives technique class and choreographs for Primary and Secondary Dance CCA. She was also a Teaching Assistant at the Dance Talent Development Programme jointly organised by the Ministry of Education, National Arts Council and LASALLE College of the Arts.

Stacie aspires to continue to develop her repertoire and imparts skills and knowledge to the younger generation. She consistently works towards growing and evolving in her field and enjoys performing improvisational works as well as site-specific ones.
