Sheriden Newman, is co-founder of Asian Contemporary dance collective, Soul Signature (Singapore), alongside Young Artist Award recipient Sufri Juwahir. The duo have produced and presented 3 dance productions, REVERBERATE (Jan 2016), GADING (2017) and FOREGROUND (2018) and collaborated together on their award winning duet, DECIPHER.

Australian born, she graduated from New Zealand School of Dance, 2006 and Queensland University of Technology in Australia with a BFA (Dance), 2010. Being a versatile and vibrant dancer, Sheriden was awarded 1st Prize for Zee TV’s Dance Singapore Dance, season 2 dance competition (2016), where she was able to showcase her skills in modern, contemporary dance and her training in classical Indian Dance.

Sheriden was a former principal dancer with Maya Dance Theatre (Singapore) for 4 years. Through her time in Maya Dance Theatre she trained in Classical Indian Dance, Bharatanatyam under Kavitha Krishnan and Ajith Dass, and performed extensively in local and overseas productions with a variety of international choreographers. Her choreographic works have been presented in Singapore platforms and she has facilitated many workshops, dance classes, and adjudicated competitions for a number of events both locally and internationally.

Sheriden is also a dance teacher sharing her skills, passion and knowledge in dance across all ages, from Pre-schools, to primary and secondary schools, to tertiary levels such as; LASALLE College of the Arts, and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore). Currently she is a full-time dance teacher at All That Jazz Dance Academy (Singapore), grooming the next generation to be versatile and strong dancers.
