Jenny studied Dance Choreography (中国舞编创) at the Beijing Dance Academy in 2004 under the National Arts Council and Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan training grant and scholarship. She subsequently pursued a BA (Hons) in Dance at LASALLE College of the Arts, graduating in 2009.

From 2008 to 2012, Jenny progressively obtained her Grade 1 to 12 teaching certificate for the Chinese Folk Dance Graded Examination Syllabus. To gain a deeper insight of this syllabus, she later enrolled herself in the advanced teaching training and master course, receiving her higher teaching certificate in 2014 and was assigned to be the Dance Examiner for this dance syllabus in 2015.

Having fully devoted her youth to dancing, Jenny has gained herself a wealth of experience and opportunities as a dancer. Jenny’s grace and strong performing abilities has deemed her an undeniably popular performer on stage.

Besides being a dancer, Jenny is also a driven individual dedicated to her craft. Jenny is the Principal Choreographer of the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT) formerly known as Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Dance Theatre (SHHKDT). She actively choreographs for her company’s productions, as well as proactively participates in national events and competitions.

Some of Jenny’s most outstanding recent works include “The Wilderness”, a 35-minute dance drama which was premiered at the Third China Cao Yu Culture Week held in China (2015), and clinched the Gold award in Vietnam International Dance festival. (2017), the original dance drama “Life’s A Stage (2016)”, “The Voyage down South (2017) ”, “Palace -The Void Within (2017)” for her company’s core production. Jenny was also involved in the choreography of “Homecoming” for the Singapore International Festival of Arts 2015.

Beside her strong passion in dance, Jenny also participates in Chinese opera. She feels that being exposed to this traditional art has helped further expose herself to the performing arts scene. Jenny is also teaching modular class and choreographing works in LASALLE College of the Arts.
