Our Directors

Ms Lena Foo
Founder &
Artistic Director
Founder of Dancepointe @ Taman Jurong in December 2005, Ms. Foo's vision catalyzed the expansion of Dancepointe Academy to different regions in Singapore, now a bastion of Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and K-Pop dance education across Singapore and RAD Ballet in China, Shenyang. Presently, Ms. Foo is focused on cultivating Soloists for Pre-Professional Ballet Competitions, with her students consistently attaining commendable success. Her leadership extends to managing Dancepointe Academy's competitive teams alongside a formidable team of 70 teachers.
Beyond her artistic leadership, Ms. Foo is deeply committed to the holistic development of every dancer at Dancepointe Academy. She plays an integral role in crafting structured, progressive training pathways that support dancers at every stage of their journey — from foundation to pre-professional. Her dedication extends to the curation of meaningful events, examinations, and performance platforms that foster both technical growth and artistic expression.
Equally invested in nurturing her team of educators, Ms. Foo spearheads the Academy’s teacher development initiatives. Each year, she thoughtfully introduces training programmes, masterclasses, and professional certifications to enhance teaching excellence and uphold the Academy’s high standards. Through her vision and dedication, Dancepointe Academy continues to thrive as a vibrant and evolving hub for dance education.
Holding a Bachelor Degree in Business from Nanyang Technological University, with a major in Marketing and a minor in Applied Finance, she initially pursued a management career in the F&B industry's marketing realm before founding Dancepointe Education Group. Today, Ms. Foo stands at the forefront as the Artistic Director of Dancepointe Academy, continuing to inspire and shape the future of dance.
Lance Tang is the Co-Founder and Group Director of Dancepointe Academy, and a visionary leader whose multidisciplinary expertise has been instrumental in transforming the academy into one of Singapore’s premier dance education institutions.
An ex-SAF scholar, Lance holds a Degree in Mechanical and Aviation Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and a Master of Science (MSc) in Financial Engineering (MFE) at Nanyang Business School (NTU - Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA). His career has spanned across diverse sectors — from running a successful café business to navigating the fast-paced world of commodity trading under a major bank. These experiences equipped him with a dynamic blend of analytical precision, entrepreneurial agility, and people-focused leadership.
Lance’s journey with Dancepointe began when the academy was a single studio located at Taman Jurong Community Centre. Recognising the potential to build a lasting legacy in the performing arts, he joined forces with the Artistic Director, Lena Foo, to lead the academy's expansion and long-term development.
While the Artistic Director focused on curriculum excellence and creative growth, Lance brought strategic direction, operational discipline, and a bold vision for scale. Under his guidance, Dancepointe Academy has grown into a vibrant multi-location institution, serving thousands of students across various dance genres including Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and K-Pop.
As Group Director, Lance oversees the academy’s strategic planning, business development, and cross-functional growth. His ability to combine data-driven decision-making with deep empathy for people has helped cultivate a culture where both students and educators thrive.
"Every dancer is talented; they just unwrap their gifts to different tunes."
