Biography

Jessica Chen Hui Yun began her ballet training under Ms Wendy Seoh at the age of 7 and subsequently with Ms Shyamala Vhamathawan at Crestar School of Dance. She achieved Distinctions for RAD Grades 1-8 with the exception of Grade 5 and also a High Merit for her RAD Intermediate examination.

Apart from her classical ballet training, Jessica Chen Hui Yun has also been exposed to various styles of dance during her schooling years including jazz, contemporary and hip hop under various teachers. She was actively involved in dance as a student, and participated in numerous performances and competitions under Ms Chiam Fei Fei with the TKGS Dance Club, including segments of Les Sylphides and Swan Lake, as well as the SYF 2007 and 2009 pieces “The Flame” and “Rising Sun”, both choreographed by Ms Chiam Fei Fei. During her early years learning classical ballet, she also took part in the RAD Summer School program and was awarded the Most Improved Dancer for her age group.

Jessica Chen Hui Yun’s teaching journey began in 2017, when her love for ballet led her to return from an overseas teaching career to pursue ballet teaching instead. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and love for ballet with her students, and she hopes to produce students with not just technique but artistry as well.

Jessica is part of the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) programme, and to pursue RAD Registered Teaching status.
